OWN DEMO PROJECT · SERVICE WEBSITE, LOCAL SEO & SPEED

Brightvale: an HVAC website built to turn local searches into calls.

I designed and built Brightvale Heating & Air, a demo website for an HVAC company in Austin, TX, using only free tools. It has 16 pages, including 4 service pages and 4 city landing pages, click-to-call buttons, a sticky mobile call bar and a free quote form. I completed local SEO and speed optimization, then measured the result with Google PageSpeed Insights.

Website: hvac.mitaur.com (demo business, not a real company)
Date: November 2026 · 16 pages, 4 city pages
Tools: WordPress, Blocksy, Rank Math, WPForms, LiteSpeed Cache and Google PageSpeed Insights.

THE RESULT

What the final tests reported.

PAGESPEED · MOBILE · AC REPAIR

87 → 100

Largest Contentful Paint dropped from 4.1 s to 1.1 s after the body font was switched to a system font stack.

PAGESPEED · MOBILE · HOME

98 / 100

LCP 1.1 s and zero layout shift. Desktop scored 100 with an LCP of 0.5 s.

ACCESSIBILITY · HOME

93 → 100

Darker button colors for contrast, underlined text links and readable footer text.

Also after: Accessibility 93 → 100 and Best Practices 100 on the home page; layout shift 0 on every mobile test.

Lighthouse lab scores move a few points between runs, which is why the home page went from 99 to 98 while its LCP improved. PageSpeed’s SEO score shows 66 only because the demo site is intentionally set to noindex.

THE BRIEF

Build a service website that earns calls, not just visits.

I wanted a realistic local service project to show clients: an HVAC company website built only with free tools, with clear services, pages for each city it serves, trust signals and an easy way to call or request a quote from any phone.

STEP BY STEP

How the work was carried out.

01 · Plan the pages and design system

I planned 16 pages: home, a services hub with 4 service pages (AC repair, AC installation, heating, maintenance), a service areas hub with 4 city pages (Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville), About, FAQ, Contact, Privacy and Terms. I built a custom navy and orange design system on the free Blocksy theme.

02 · Build for calls and quote requests

Every page has click-to-call buttons, and phones get a sticky “Call now / Free quote” bar. The WPForms quote form asks for name, phone, email, ZIP code, service and urgency. Service pages list warning signs, what is included, pricing notes and an FAQ.

03 · Complete local SEO

With Rank Math I set HVACBusiness as the business type and wrote a unique title, meta description and focus keyword for every page. I added custom JSON-LD: HVACBusiness on the home page, Service and FAQPage on service pages, and FAQPage on city pages. I removed a duplicate H1 and linked related pages together.

04 · Measure speed and accessibility

I tested the home page and the AC repair page in PageSpeed Insights. The home page scored 99 on mobile with accessibility at 93. The AC repair page scored 87 on mobile because a Google Font delayed the main text from appearing, giving an LCP of 4.1 s.

05 · Optimize

I tuned LiteSpeed Cache (browser cache, minified CSS and JS, deferred JS, lazy-loaded images with the hero image excluded), switched the body text to a system font stack, darkened the orange buttons for contrast and underlined text links. I left async Google Fonts off because it caused layout shift.

06 · Re-test

The AC repair page rose to 100 on mobile with an LCP of 1.1 s, the home page scored 98 on mobile with accessibility at 100, and both pages scored 100 on desktop with zero layout shift.

THE REMAINING WORK

Keep the next actions visible.

  • Indexing: the site is noindex on purpose. Search visibility, a Google Business Profile and a real phone number would be added for a real launch.
  • Reviews: a real business would add verified customer reviews and license details to build trust.
  • Field data: the site has no real traffic, so only lab tests are reported.

REPORT CONTEXT

What these figures measure.

Test date: November 2026, before and after the optimization work. Tool: Google PageSpeed Insights (Lighthouse lab data), mobile and desktop, home page and the AC repair page.

These are lab performance scores and on-page checks, not rankings, calls or traffic, and no ranking result is claimed. FAQ markup is valid, but Google currently shows FAQ rich results mainly for government and health websites.
